Habitat

Asian elephants inhabit a variety of tropical forest habitat types:

Grasslands, tropical evergreen forest, semi-evergreen forest, moist deciduous forest, dry deciduous forest, dry thorn forest, cultivated & secondary forests and scrublands (IUCN).

 Across this range of habitats, elephants can be found from sea level to over 3,000m (9,800ft).
